Oke Ogun PDP Supports Alao-Akala For Oyo State's Governorship Race


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oke-Ogun, Oyo State, on Thursday, at a meeting in Oje Owode, endorsed the aspiration of Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, to govern the state again on the platform of the party.
 
In a communiqué, issued at the end of the meeting, which was signed by the duo of Ola Adigun Irawo and Chief Gbadebo Adetoro, the party also lent its support to the senatorial ambition of Honourable Abisodun Kareem Tajudeen, currently representing Atisbo/Saki East/Saki West in the House of Representatives.

Ondo Assembly Suspends Member, Set Up Probe Committee

Leadership of the Ondo State House of Assembly today suspended the lawmaker representing Owo State Constituency II, Olatunji Dairo.

Dairo, is one of the 19 lawmakers that shunned the 2013 budget presentation by Governor Olusegun Mimiko on December 31,2013.

MUTINY: EU Condemn Death Sentences

The European Union (EU) has rejected the death sentence handed to 12 Nigerian soldiers by the General Court Martial in Nigeria for alleged mutiny.

The EU in a statement issued yesterday on the occasion of the World Day against Death Penalty condemned all death sentences especially after mass trials as was the case with the Nigerian soldiers.

The acquisition of OML 29, as well as the Nembe Creek Trunk line, a 60-mile pipeline which has served as Nigeria’s major crude oil transportation channel- moving oil through the Niger Delta to the Atlantic coast, is a major boost for Nigerian Local Content Development initiative.

Obi’s Defection To PDP Has Vindicated Me –Ngige

Former Governor of Anambra State, Chris Ngige of the All Progressives Congress (APC), enthused on Wednesday that he has been vindicated by the defection of his successor, Peter Obi, from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Reacting to Obi’s Tuesday defection to PDP in an interview with newsmen in Awka, Ngige recalled that he had earlier stated that those leading APGA were traders and they were there to trade with the party.
