The Nigerian Human Rights Community, (NHRC) has accused the Ekiti State

Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, of plotting to disrupt the declaration

rally of a member of the All Progressive Congress, (APC), Senator

Babafemi Ojudu, which has been scheduled for Friday 9 March 2018.

The group alleged that Mr Fayose's agents plan to remove hundreds of

posters and billboards already installed for this purpose.

Professor Nwabueze made the allegation in his paper entitled: “President Buhari’s integrity is gravely compromised by his role and inconsistent action in the prosecution and trial of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki” which was made available to Nigerian Tribune in Enugu on Tuesday night.

AMBODE’S WIFE CALLS FOR REMOVAL OF BARRIERS IMPEDING WOMEN’S PROGRESS


As Lagos joined the rest of world to mark this year's International Women's Day celebration, wife of the Lagos State Governor, Mrs Bolanle Ambode has called for the removal of barriers impeding the progress of women in the country.

Speaking at the Women's Day celebration held at the Police College,  Ikeja,  Lagos on Thursday, Mrs Ambode said women must be ready to challenge stereotypes and should rise up to question old established practices that were not women-friendly.

The Lagos State Government has released a calendar of over 70 state-sponsored and endorsed arts and culture programmes slated for Y2018 in its bid to garner visibility for tourism-oriented art programmes.

The State’s Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Steve Ayorinde in a statement on Thursday, described the calendar as a novel exercise designed to frontload State and privately driven arts, culture and entertainment events that will have positive effects on tourism promotion.

Labour Ministry Formulates Industrial Relations Regulatory Framework




The Honourable Minister of state for Labour and Employment, Professor Stephen Ocheni, has affirmed that towards mitigating the unhealthy competition and rivalry among trade unions, the government is committed to entrenching an enduring industrial relations system that will act as an engine for national development and growth.  
                                                                     
The Minister made this assertion while inaugurating the national industrial relations policy meeting. According to him, “There is no gainsaying that a National Policy given its strategic role in promoting consensus and social dialogue will provide a rallying point for all the stake holders to own the process and ensure its sustainability. The policy will also define roles and responsibilities for social partners as well as provide the necessary check and balances against actions that have the tendency to inflame the industrial relations system and dislocate Government’s Economic aspiration.”

Man Caught Having Sex With Teenager In Court Premises


A 43-year-old man, Yusuf Adamu, from Zango, Birninkudu, the headquarters of Birninkudu Local Government of Jigawa state, has been arrested for allegedly sleeping with a 13-year-old boy.
The suspect, an official of Birninkudu Magistrates’ Court, was alleged to have committed the offence on the court premises at night.
