Al-Qaeda Influence Growing In North-West Nigeria, United States Warns


Al-Qaeda insurgent group is gaining sway in the restive North-Western part of Nigeria, the United States of America has warned.

Dagvin Anderson, Commander of the US Special Operations Command, Africa, disclosed this during a briefing, saying the group was also expanding to other parts of West Africa.

3 Nigerian gymnasts get scholarship to US-based gymnastics camp


Three gymnasts from Tony International Gymnastics (TIG) club Abuja, have received scholarship from Boston Rhythmic Gymnastics School in the U.S, to participate in its online camp in August.

They are 8-year-old Sefiya Msheila, Nethan Ahube, 7, and Folake Olanubi, 7.

Anthony Asuquo, coach and founder of TIG disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja.

COVID-19: Airport operator to cut 4,000 jobs


Fraport, the operator of Frankfurt Airport, announced plans on Tuesday to cut between 3,000 and 4,000 jobs as the crisis inflicted on the air travel industry by the coronavirus drags on.

Chief executive Stefan Schulte said in an interim report for the first half of the year that passenger numbers are still expected to languish at 15-20 per cent of 2019 levels in 2022 and 2023.

A Nigerian lawyer, Benjamin Waive, has discredited a report by Sahara Reporters that the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, did not graduate from law school. In separate reports, Sahara Reporters first implied that the Speaker lied about his law certificate because his name was not in the list of registered lawyers at the Supreme Court.
