A Federal High Court in Abuja, dismissed with substantial cost, a suit filed by a chieftain of the now defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Kogi, Mohammed Jamiu Audu, seeking to remove Kogi governor, Idris Wada, from office.

N800m Fraud: Accused Persons Get Bail on Tough Terms

Justice Sylvanus Chinedu Oriji of the FCT High Court sitting in Apo, Abuja today, June 11, 2014 granted bail to the duo Mohammed Abubakar Kent and Precious Otsu, who are currently being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for offences which border on fraud.

Kent and Otsu were granted bail in the sum of N25m (twenty five million naira) each and two sureties in like sum. One of the sureties must be a civil servant not below grade level 14. The sureties must depose to affidavit of means and must be resident within the jurisdiction of the court.

House of Representatives members from Lagos State have denied a recent media report which claimed they have adopted a former Accountant-General in Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode as the next governor of the state.
The lawmakers had reportedly met with Ambode at a meeting he was said to have formally intimated them with his intention to run as governor in next year’s election, a piece of information the lawmakers would rather was for the records.

Labour Party Will Unseat Amosun Come 2015- OGD

Former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has declared that, come May 29,2015, Labour Party will be at the helm of affairs in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.
He said the time was up for the All Progressives Congress (APC) government in Ogun State and blamed the government for concentrating only on roads.
Daniel stated that the present government has expended too much only on road construction, while other sectors are left to suffered.
