Ondo Assembly Suspends Member, Set Up Probe Committee

Leadership of the Ondo State House of Assembly today suspended the lawmaker representing Owo State Constituency II, Olatunji Dairo.

Dairo, is one of the 19 lawmakers that shunned the 2013 budget presentation by Governor Olusegun Mimiko on December 31,2013.

The Majority Leader of the House, Ifedayo Akinsoyinu, said the suspension of the lawmaker was an internal affair.

He said the House has set up a committee to look into the allegations leveled against the suspended legislator.

However,Dairo said his suspension was not new in politics.

The former Chief Whip said he was not the first person tohave experienced suspension at the State Assembly and would not be the last.

Dairo said his suspension was based on an allegation and after the Committee concludes its assignment, he would be vindicated.

He ruled out the possibility of witch-hunting, stressing that justice would prevail eventually.
