12M Electricity Debt:Ogun Governor's Lodge,SSG Official Residence In Black Out For 3Months

Is Ogun state so broke it cannot afford to pay for utilities enjoyed by prominent members of the state Executives? That seems to be the question on the lips of the citizenry as there have been major electricity disconnections of some prominent quarters, lodges and official residence of notable people in government in the state.  The buildings disconnected since April this year by members of the task force from IBEDC, Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, Ijeun Business District
include the Deputy Governors Lodge and Guest House, the Secretary to the State Government official residence and Guest House due to back log of outstanding bills, said to be at slightly over 12million naira.  While many are quick to say the payment of the Deputy Governor’s Lodge is political, owing to the ongoing rift between the Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun FCA and the Deputy, Chief Segun Adesegun, that of the SSG residence was said to be normal, considered waste of government funds since the Secretary to the State government, Taiwo Adeoluwa resides in his personal mansion in Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta. Sadly enough, the Deputy Governor was said to have been running on generator since the disconnection, running into thousands of naira every week  and quite unfortunately,  the generator developed a major fault on the 15th of July 2014 thus making the Deputy Governor finding solace in other places till the generating set was put in place.
