Lekki Free Trade Zone commissioned by Governor Fashola


The Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola (SAN) recently commissioned the Lekki Free Trade Zone with Nigeria’s foremost conglomerate, Dangote Group of Industries, taking the lead.


Alhaji Aliko Dangote and other potential investors got the cooperation of the host community that their billions of naira investments in the zone would be protected.

Speaking with journalists after the ceremony, Fashola said the commissioning was a step towards fast-tracking the development of the zone.

Adding further, the governor said assured the general public and the investors that for no reasons would the zone suffer set back or any form of distraction, although, there's sure to be misunderstanding and all, his administration will ensure such does not disrupt the activities in the trade zone.

He said: “I find it hard to reconcile the demand for jobs and disturbing the factories and industries that will provide jobs.”


Dangote applause Fashola for commissioning the trade zone. said it would be the biggest of such zones in Africa.
