PMB PROCEEDS ON 6-DAY LEAVE



President Muhammadu Buhari has embarked on a five-day vacation beginning from today, February 5, to February 10, 2016.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

SUPREME COURT DISMISSES SARAKI'S APPEAL



The Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, challenging the validity of his trial on charges of assets declaration preferred against him at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
A seven-man panel of the apex court presided over by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, unanimously ruled on Friday that Saraki’s appeal against the jurisdiction of the trial and competence of the charges, lacked merit.

Poised to creating global awareness for NGOs through networking both regionally and internationally and assist them in enhancing their programs and activities in the area of restructuring for global competitiveness, and empowering them through education, training and resource mobilisation to enhance the services of NGOs in and to their various communities, the International Association of African NGOs (IAAN), will between September 18 and 19, 2015, bring all NGOs from the African, the Caribbean and Latin American regions under one umbrella, to work together, lean from each other’s expertise, create and galvanize a symbiotic relationship with their different aims and objectives. The director of media and communication, IAAN, Mr.Olumide Idowu, in this interview with DANIEL ANAZIA spoke on the objectives of the organisation and the First Ladies and NGOs Forum schedule to hold in September.

11KOBO PER SECOND SCAM,NIGERIANS REACT TO ETISALAT AND AIRTEL LIES



The on-going advert campaigns by the four major telecom service providers on their 11 kobo per second tariff for calls have elicited mixed reactions from GSM subscribers. 
While those of Airtel and Etisalat were condemned for being false and misleading, the adverts of Glo and MTN werecommended for being sincere and factual.
In its own campaign, Etisalat said a subscriber can call over 160 million Nigerians at 11 kobo per second”, while Airtel’scommunication on the same tariff plan said subscribers on Airtel can call everyone in Nigeria at 11k per second”.
