APC Win Wont Create One Party State-Gov Ahmed








Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has said that contrary to fears in some quarters the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in this year’s general elections cannot transform Nigeria into a one-party state.

Dr Ahmed, who is also the Governor-elect of the state said this in an address after receiving the Certificate of Return at the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Ilorin, the State capital.

Buhari should abolish government foreign scholarships- Commonwealth Youth chair, Ahmed Adamu





The Commonwealth Youth Council chairperson, Ahmed Adamu, has urged Nigeria’s president elect, Muhamudu Buhari, to abolish foreign scholarships in country when he assumes office May 29. 

According to Adamu who holds a PhD in economics, close to N100 billion is spent on foreign scholarships annually by Nigerian government which he claimed has caused over supply of Nigerian currency, triggering the continue decline of the value of the Nigerian Naira.

RIVERS ELECTION: YOU NEED TO READ THIS

An interim report by Independent Election Monitoring Group has taken a swipe at the conduct of the governorship/assembly polls in Rivers state saying it rubbishes whatever progress Nigeria has made in its democratic process.
A reports signed by Esther Achor said the election was a charade in which hoodlums, thugs, security agents connived to unleashed terror on voters.

Patience, Wike Instigating Rivers Crisis- Security Reports






Reports emanating from Rivers‎ State indicate that the gale of violence emanating from the state is being instigated by the First Lady, Patience Jonathan and the governorship candidate of the PDP in the state, Nyesome Wike.
A police source, who is part of the delegation to the state hinted that‎ the indication of violence or conspiracy to violence started to manifest on Friday when a former police commissioner in the state, Tunde Ogunshakin, issued strong warning to his men on the ground against partisanship.

"Intolerance Not Our Character Trait in Lagos"-Obanikoro



Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, yesterday condemned in very strong terms, the death threat reportedly issued by the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu on the Igbos living in Lagos, saying such habitual intolerance is not a character trait of the quintessential Lagos people.
