According to information available to us, the cheque was issued by the Ibom Power Company and belonged to the United Bank for Africa (UBA), in part liquidation of N1.2Billion in the name LYK/Gulf Bank Plc.”

BANK MANAGER ESCAPES ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT
Mr. Kelvin Odirukwe, a branch manager of one of the foremost new generation banks in Jabi area of the FCT Federal Capital Territory, Abuja escaped death by the whiskers when suspected hired assassins besieged his home at #108, Aminu Kano Crescent, Abuja on Wednesday, 2nd of July 2014. According to eyewitnesses, the assailants numbering about four stormed the residence, shooting the guard of the house simply identified as Musa who died from injuries sustained from the gun shot and broke into Mr. Odirukwe’s apartment who was said not to be at home during the attack. According to the witnesses, Mr. Kelvin Odirukwe’s whearabouts remain unknown since the attack as the district’s police station has been notified of the incident. Meanwhile, nothing was reported to have been stolen by the hoodlums who were said to have stormed the area at about 8.35pm of the fateful day.
