SUMONU, ADESINA APPOINTED OPU SECRETARY GENERAL, SPECIAL ADVISER

The appointment of Mr. Lanre Sumonu and Capt Michael Adesina. as the General Secretary  and Special Adviser on Inter Chapter Relations of Oodua Progressive Union (OPU) was recently approved by Otunba (Dr) Gani Adams,the convener of union.
Otunba Adams said the appointments will no doubt further energise the growth and expansion of the union which is already in 64 countries with the launch of the Mali Chapter in Bamako today.

He expressed his excitement that such capable hands have been bestowed  with the responsibility to take charge of the affairs of the union haven been tested and exhibited leadership traits in their individual capacities and their love for the aims and objectives of the Union.
He  believes that they will  uphold the vision and work for the success of the union and take it to greater heights.
Mr Lanre Sunmonu until his recent appointment is the General Secretary of the UK chapter of Oodua Progressive Union.
Lanre Sunmoni,is a Chartered Marketing Consultant with Chartered Institute of Marketing, Great Britain. He managed a family food and cosmetics convenience store in Hoxton market, London N1, between 1998 to 2003.
He possess a Masters degree in Marketing Management and Certificate in IT. Twin-Track was originally established in the UK in March 1997. Incorporated as private limited company in Nigeria in November 2004. He founded Twin-Track Marketing Services, a consulting firm in March 1997, having worked for different reputable companies in the City of London and gained over ten years of business formation, planning, organization and marketing management experiences.
As a business researcher, he carried out reports on African -Caribbean SMEs in Deptford & Hoxton Markets between 2000 to 2003, which was favourably covered by London based African media and the Punch in Nigeria. He was the author of 2004-2005 London Borough of Southwark African & Caribbean business ownership for 2004-2005.
He believes that in an era of increasing globalisation the business community of African origin needs to speak with one voice. He loves to see African community and its business take a much higher profile in proving the performance of our role-model businesses, large or small, by the proper application of business and marketing management best practice.
He was nominated at the 2nd African Business Executive’s Award in London, for ‘African Professional of the Year’, 1998 and he eventually received Certificate for ‘Special Recognition’. An award winner again in 2014 alongside OPU Convener Otunba (Dr) Gani Adams in London, UK in the presence of Osolo of Isolo. Lanre is a team player, he has organised and spoken at various marketing, business conferences, Radio and TV programmes. Former Controller of Site & Safety (COSS) & Engineering Supervisor (ES) operative with British Railway (Rail).
A team player, Lanre holds Nigerian UK Business Association [NUBA] secretary office for 3 years and helps delivered the association constitution. A member of Nigerian Institute of Management [London Branch]. He was Executive Secretary for five years with International Angle [a business club]. In 2004, Electoral Committee Chairman for Nigerian British Community Forum [NBCF]. He was appointed and elected as the Forum’s Publicity secretary in April 2005.
He is a Christian, Lanre’s hobbies include socialising, reading and keeping an eye on issues of current affairs and listening to good music.
Capt.(Otunba) Micheal Olatokunboh Adesina prides himself with Private and Commercial Pilot Licence,General Aviation Management,Bsc in Business Administration and had working experience with Intercontinental Airlines,Concord Airlines,Ghana Airways before going into private practice,he is presently the President/CEO of International School of Aviation Worldwide.
A well travelled and exposed tourist,Otunba Adesina holds the chieftaincy titles of Otunba Erinosun Kingdom,Fiwajoye of Iseyinland,Apesin of Iresiland. A member of Institute of Aviation Management of Nigeria,Member,Nigeria Institute of Shipping Management,Member Ghana Institute of Public Administration. He is married with children
