GOV AMOSUN LOBBIES PRESIDENT BUHARI ...the ANPP connection
Trying to avoid what has played out in Osun State over non-payment of civil servants salaries for over seven months, the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has been a frequent caller of the president, GM Buhari to save the state from imminent jeopardy.
It is no news that the Governor since assumption of office In 2011 has embarked on infra-structural projects, about six overhead bridges, expansion of some township roads and unfinished structures tagged Ogun Model Schools and majorly funded by loans. The reality of this is that the financial institution, just as it happened in Osun state, are not ready to advance any form of loan or overdraft to the state since the drop in allocation and the state internally generated revenue. This much was made more apparent by the inability of the state government to pay the backlog of salary deductions of the state civil servants and pensioners.
Aggrieved civil servants who spoke with Nigeria i reporter said they had met with the state Governor to register their disapproval about the non-remmitance or their corporative deductions, and their willingness to discontinue with the scheme, they were taken aback when they where told the scheme can not be stopped, as it was a way of generating fund to the state, now, hence their dilemma. Against the press statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Taiwo Adeoluwa that Ogun State is not owing civil servants any salary areas, there are questions about unpaid salary deductions that is running close to six months with to end in sight.
This is however attributed as the main reason the state Governor has been a constant caller of the President since the latter was sworn in, not forgotten they have both gone a long way since their stint with the All Nigeria Peoples Congress as far back as 2006.
