KWARA 2015: OFFA UNITES FOR SARAKI, APC
The people of Offa Local Government of Kwara state have thrown their weight behind the All Progressive Congress led by Senator Bukola Saraki as their party of choice in the forthcoming general elections.
The people of Offa declared their support for APC during the party’s visit to the Oloofa’s palace led by the former governor and chairman of Senate Committee on Ecology, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki.
Addressing the Oloofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi, high chiefs of Offa environs and community leaders at the palace, Senator Bukola Saraki urged the audience to thoughtfully reflect on the current state of the nation, assessing issues ranging from the fall of Nigerian economy, insecurity, peaking youth unemployment among others and asked if they want such to continue in the nation.
Dwelling on the tough challenges confronting the Nigerian society, Saraki called on the people of Offa and Nigerians at large to refrain from politics based on personal interests, ethnic or religious affiliations and the people must never make the mistake of voting for any PDP candidate in the 2015 general elections because the party has not done anything for the people of Kwara in the last six years of President Jonathan’s leadership, stating that the nation’s funds are been mismanaged by the ruling party without accountability.
Earlier in his speech, Senator Bukola Saraki asked the members of the audience to indicate if indeed they were happy with the present PDP government led by Goodluck Jonathan in the nation and would want a continuity which was responded to with a negative answer, said since it was by popular negation that the people are tired of PDP and does not want the continuity of PDP at national level, the people should turn out en masse to vote for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections- ranging from the Presidency to State Assemblies.
Further assessing the state of the nation, Saraki added that the present administration has dwindled Federal allocation which has made it impossible for states to embark on major projects. Saraki raised an alarm that if such continues, the nation’s challenges may escalate.
Also speaking at the event, the Kwara state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed commended the people of Offa for been very supportive; Ahmed said in spite of daunting national challenges and falling federal allocation which has destabilized many states, Kwara has been lucky in managing its resources by paying workers’ salaries adequately and embarking on major projects including the General Hospitals in Ilorin, Offa, Omu Aran, Share and Kaiama which were constructed by his administration.
Ahmed emphasized the need for all and sundry to vote for All APC candidates at national and state levels in the forthcoming elections in order to rescue Nigeria from the falling state and reset the nation on the right path.
Responding, the Oloofa of Offa, HRH Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi decried the present state of the nation; Oba Mufutau made it known that the Offa community are not naïve of the current state of the nation and are set for change come February. He assured Senator Bukola Saraki that Offa is united and will deliver for APC in the forthcoming elections.
“Offa people are well informed, they are not naïve of the ongoing state of the nation; I want to assure you to put your mind at rest because Offa people are set for change and united for APC; when you leave the palace and see the crowd awaiting you at the campaign ground, you will be certain that Offa people are for APC” he stated.
After departing from Offa, Senator Bukola Saraki also led the Kwara APC campaign team to Erin Ile and Ijagbo where the party was received by mammoth crowd; Saraki assured Kwarans that more developments will be witnessed in Kwara if APC emerges at the presidential level and beyond.
