The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has
described the ongoing Primaries being conducted by the Buruji-led faction
in Ogun State as "unauthorised, unconstitutional, illegal and void".
This was the outcome of the stakeholders meeting from Ogun State held
with members of the NWC in Abuja yesterday.
The meeting which was attended by all the stakeholders including former
Governor of the state, Ottunba Gbenga Daniel, the party financier,
Buruji Kasamu, Senator Jubril Martins-Kuye and many others.
The National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Olisa Metuh was
however directed to make the position of the party on the
illegality known to the public through a press conference,
but Buruji Kasamu pleaded with the party leadership that he will abide
by the party's decision and comply with the further directive not
to go ahead with the governorship primaries slated
for Monday 8th of December.
