This is one story that women advocacy groups should take up, and ensure that justice is done. The reason being that it reeks of nothing but women debasement and utter humiliation. The saddest part of the in-human act is that the culprit, an ex-governor, trained as a medical doctor and all through his tenure pretended to be an intellectual. In charge of one of the volatile South-East states then, this fellow is simply unconscionable and heartless. Initially in constant battle with poverty, we gathered that his behavior changed towards his wife immediately his fortune also changed. Hitherto depending on this same woman whom he has reduced to nothing, to feed and to live, especially when they were outside the shores of this country, he became a changed person as soon as he came in contact with immense money and raw power.

 Repeatedly abusing this woman, and sometimes leaving her with a black eye, the last straw that broke the camel’s back was his stripping her in the presence of their domestic staff! The reasons he threw caution to the winds are still unknown. But one of his closest aides told us that he had to go to that extreme – total humiliation – to tell the woman that it is all over, since in spite of all he had done in the past to the woman in secret, the mother of three, still refuses to go.
